Yoga has been a part of my life for more than 20 years. I have explored many forms of fitness, but always came back to Yoga for the mind, body, and spirit benefits it provides me. About four years ago I had the opportunity to attend a continuing education conference at a Yoga retreat center. I was hooked! I knew that a deeper exploration of Yoga would benefit me and the patients I work with as a mental health therapist. When the opportunity to participate in Yoga teacher training presented itself three years ago, I was ready and excited for this new journey. Through my training I have developed a deeper understanding of Asana, Pranayama, meditation, and yogic philosophy. Since becoming a Yoga teacher, I have begun to focus my teaching on populations who might not otherwise have access to Yoga’s benefits. Additionally, I have pursued training as a trauma-focused Yoga teacher in order help people to use Yoga for healing from traumatic experiences. Through Yoga I have grown in mind, body and spirit. I hope to share this experience of healing, health and well being with my community. I have learned that Yoga is truly for everyone. If you are breathing, you can do Yoga. Join me!
